We had a sub today in class so we got our assignment off Mr. Schick’s blog. I also has a shadow and her name is Larissa! When I first got to class I started off by getting the notes I missed while I was absent. Then I found out where my new seat was. Then we went into discussing place and characteristics of a place that make them special. We talked a little bit about Maryland and the characteristics that make it unique. Such as language, culture, the flag, traditions, religion and much more. Then we did more definitions. We defined region and cultural landscape. Then we talked a little about types of regions and how to classify them. Then after that we got into groups of three and looked at three maps from different elections- 2006, 2008, and 2012. We looked at which states voted republican and which voted democratic and then we sorted them and talked about how you would categorize them into different regions. We did not finish all of it so I think that is where we will be picking up during the start of tomorrow’s class.
