Today in class we talked about the quote "thinking globally, acting locally". It is basically saying that we should think about ways to help the earth by doing small things and helping out in our communities. Then we took notes on how geographers think about scales at many levels, from local to global. At a local scale, such as an urban neighborhood, geographers tend to see broad patterns. Then we got into the topic about whether or not the voting age should be moved up to a younger age. Most of the class had an opinion on it and it was good to see many people volunteer and voice that opinion. I think that it all depends on the person voting and his or her interests and current knowledge about the candidates, elections and world affairs. Overall we had a pretty lively class today.
